When the goggles are on there is no use trying to awaken a drone enthusiast from the near-total immersion of a white-knuckle showdown between some of the fastest competitors in Australia.
You can brush past them and they don’t notice. It is what some call their Zen moment.
They are part of a hive mind in a way: Just like the drone pilots, spectators also wear goggles, allowing them to tune into what the pilot is seeing in the sky and on the track via the cameras attached to the drones.
